In your sketchbook, complete a careful modified-contour study of a pine cone. Try to draw quietly and continuously, working hard to shift to the right-brained thinking mode. This exercise is intended both to review your edge-perceiving skills, and introduce you, gradually to the perception of spaces and field/ground relationships which Dr. Edwards writes about in chapter 7 or DRSB.
